KBIG Propellant Technologies

Concerns about global warming and the environment in general have made it necessary to reduce the release of greenhouse gases and volatile organic compounds. KBIG has been pioneering technologies that reduce the need for these agents, in particular their use as propellants for product dispense such as aerosols. New systems utilising air, nitrogen or recycled carbon dioxide are being developed and tested.

The new technologies must be compatible with existing practice and economics as far as is possible and consequently the work has been carried out in conjunction with members of the industry. Testing and evaluation has been carried out independently of ourselves.

The work has now reached the stage where commercialisation can begin and in promoting its technologies to interested third parties KBIG is able to include specific areas of expertise from other companies with whom we are collaborating. Overall our technology package can include expertise in the following areas:

· Gas selection
· Gas handling
· Adsorbent selection
· Adsorbent sourcing
· Adsorbent requirement for discharge pressure profile
· Product container design
· Valve selection
· Product formulation for compatibility with dispensing gas system
· Product formulation for dispense characteristics
· Trial production

Complete production runs of canisters using the new technology with a variety of different products are also possible.

Working prototype canisters utilising the KBIG technologies have already been made which have been shown to be useful in dispensing existing commercial products. We will be very pleased to discuss potential customers needs and where appropriate make recommendations and submit a proposal for the necessary work.
